PreAlpha 0.01: First update! Here are a few things you might notice.
- Handling just changed. A LOT. You now can use the Q and E keys to rotate (roll) the ship around the long axis a bit (you’ll see). The [ and ] keys are still engine power. Steering is now best handling in the alternate view mode (use mouse wheel click to switch). The default view mode now has free look centered on the ship, which is a blast. Handling is VERY much a work in progress, but thought you’d like to play with this mode.
- Speed limit has now been set to the best the UE4 PhysX can handle, which is actually a fair bit higher than the speedo can show. See for yourself!
- Different parts have different stats now! I don’t have them showing the stats yet, but if you tinker around you’ll see some parts combinations handle quite a bit differently now that mass and thrust vary.
- More colored parts in the ship browser as stand-ins. You can now make yellow, red, blue, or black ships.
- Updated the parts browser asset to a better custom asset.
- Moved the majority of the flight code to C++ for improved framerate and functionality.
